If you don't want to sell your item to us directly, there are three main ways for you to receive the value of your antique. During our on site meeting we can discuss the advantages for each strategy. 1. Brokering
Sarasota Antique Buyers will broker your item. This involves generating an analysis of the antique market value of your item. Then Sarasota Antique Buyers will work with you to decide how we should proceed with the sale of your item either by working with a collector, dealer or through an auction. Sarasota Antique buyers will take a small commission on your sale as well as the cost of the initial analysis.
2. Consignment
Consignment allows you as the seller to sell your piece on a national level through international shows and internet sales that Sarasota Antique Buyers participates in. Sarasota Antique Buyers will generate an analysis for the market value of your item, this cost will be deducted from the contracted commission, then Sarasota Antique Buyers will sell the piece on your behalf and you will get the balance of the sale after the commission.
3. Selling
Many of our clients choose to receive a portion of the value of their item through a direct sale to Sarasota Antique Buyers, the value paid is not always a direct reflect of the full market value of the item. If you bring an item to Sarasota Antique Buyers that you will to sell outright please have a price that you would like to ask for it in mind. Sarasota Antique Buyers may buy your piece at that asking price.
4. Antique Market Analysis
Often times you may just want to know what the item you have in your closet/attic/garage is worth. In other words, you aren't really looking to sell the item, consign the item, or broker the item but you'd like to establish an approximate market value for your piece. Sarasota Antique Buyers is proud to offer an Antique Market Analysis. For a small fee, determined on a case by case basis, you can bring your item in or request an at home appointment, to Sarasota Antique Buyers and we will establish the fair market value for your piece. This is not an appraisal, there will not be a lengthy report to accompany the piece but it will allow you to asses if you might like to broker, consign or sell your item in the future.
